Do I need to submit some kind of report when I become a beneficiary of the long-term care insurance system?
No. Health Insurance Society is aware when an insured person reaches 40 years of age and becomes a beneficiary of the long-term care insurance system. However, you must submit a report through your employer when any of the conditions of exclusion stated below applies or ceases to apply.
Conditions for exclusion from insurance application
・Persons with no permanent domicile in Japan
・Foreign nationals permitted to stay in Japan for han three months or scheduled to leave Japan within three months
・Persons staying in facilities to which the long-term care insurance system is not applicable, including those for treating the physically handicapped
